Introduction and first lesson

You have the opportunity this term to Plan, Manage, Produce and Post Produce your own video project. You will eventually need to form small production groups to assist in the filming of these individual projects. You will each be given the freedom to choose the Genre, Style, and Subject of you projects and you will have to research other examples of your idea types. Before starting work on this project you will need note your ideas down as a flow/visual diagram (on paper or via some diagram software) your ideas for the following headings. You will also need to create a new blog called: yourfirstnameProductProject.blogspot.com


   1. Genre: What type of video could/do you individually want to make? For example you may wish to create a short comedy skit or a short factual piece, you might also consider an advertisement.
2. Style: The style of the video project will be determined by your chosen genre, for example if you make a factual documentary you would need to consider the style of documentary that you might want to create like: Fly on the wall, Observational, etc. or if you wish to make something commercial then you need to think of the style of comedy.
   3. Subject: Once you know the above areas you can start thinking about different subjects. For example you might want to do a short fly on the wall documentary about media students at Central Sussex College.

Here is a simple example of the type of mind map you need to build upon, when you have completed a mind map can you save it as a JPEG document and upload it to your blog.
